Maynard Alley Redux

Phase 1 or 2: The Maynard Alley Partnership, a group of community stakeholders and leaders, and the SCIDpda partnered with Jeff Hou to study concepts to improve Maynard Alley through an undergraduate design studio. This project aligns with the community’s work over recent years to revitalize its alleys. Significant infrastructure and artistic improvements have been made to Canton Alley and Nihonmachi Alley, respectively. In the fall of 2018, students worked with the community to explore ideas and propose concepts for making Maynard Alley a more community-oriented space. The outcomes of the studio, in turn, informed the work led by Zero-Plus. The project was supported by a Community Partnerships Fund from the Seattle Department of Neighborhoods.
