Maynard Avenue Green Street

Concept Plans: Located in Chinatown International District, South Maynard Avenue is one of the City-designated Green Streets in Seattle. The development of adjacent property for affordable housing brought an opportunity to fulfill the potential of the street as Green Street. For this project, the UW team worked with Inter*Im Community Development Association in outreach to the nearby immigrant residents and gardeners at the Danny Woo International Community Garden for input in the pre-design phase and developed the analysis and concept alternatives. The alternatives provided options for sidewalk expansion and rearrangement of street parking. Construction was completed in 2010. [Link]
