Parklets: In collaboration with the Chinatown International District Business Improvement Area (BIA) and IDEA Space of the Seattle Chinatown International District Preservation and Development Authority (SCIDpda), this project explored the possibilities for introducing Parklets in Chinatown International District to improve neighborhood amenities, public safety, and economic development in the neighborhood. Working in teams, students from the Department of Landscape Architecture at Chung Yuan University (Taiwan) identified sites in the neighborhood for potential Parklets or Parklet-like improvements. They worked with business owners, generated conceptual design alternatives, and invited input from community members on the street.
